We’re hiring a Vice President of Digital Advertising to work with Partners and members of their teams to find innovations within our space or within the firm, and bring said innovations to clients. They are responsible for growing the skills and performance of their teams and serve as members of FOGLAMP’s Senior Management Team to ensure the overall firm’s project management is happening smoothly across departments.
As VP of Digital Advertising, you will:
Develop, grow and lead the ads team to run strategic and effective paid media campaigns
Manage departments and firm on ads team processes, project intake, and management
Manage and cultivate relationships with contacts at advertising platforms
Oversee advertising product development and advertising business development
Manage clerical processes with the operations team including ad budgeting and reconciliation, invoicing, and I/O signatures
Oversee the department’s media planning and budgeting, targeting, reporting, and analysis
Develop presentations of ads program proposals or performance with clients or external stakeholders
Responsibilities
Project Management:
Identify potential challenges and provide solutions or ideas in addressing them, both when managing staff and escalating appropriate concerns to partners
Support teams in finding solutions to deliver quality digital work, especially in times of uncertainty or pressure
Shepherd staff to use and improve on project management systems, ensuring they’re working for our staff, especially in high-impact moments in individual teams and across departments
Make recommendations for utilizing tools better, and implement tools along with other VPs
Work in collaboration with, and support of, Senior Management Team members including partners and department heads to ensure that work is integrated
Team management
Grow and build the skills of the department to be on the cutting edge of progressive digital strategy that ensures client satisfaction
Develop trainings and processes/norms, share best practices, and develop a culture of sharing learnings and successes across clients with an eye toward two things: 1) developing our staff’s skills and knowledge of the digital strategy landscape 2) bringing new ideas to our clients
Manage and scale the team to meet our client needs
Make recommendations for which clients to assign to staff
Supervise staff including managing managers
Senior Management Team
Serve as a member of the Senior Management Team, along with Leadership, to define success for their teams, driving FOGLAMP to be on the cutting edge (not behind the curve) of fundraising and advertising strategy, and working in collaboration across all levels to deliver superb products for our clients
Create and/or review all-staff processes before they’re delivered to the team, provide solutions-oriented feedback, and ensure processes are understood by and adhered to so staff can be successful
Set department-level goals that inform individual goals with an emphasis on individual growth and development, client satisfaction, and, ultimately, profitability
Business & Product development
Regularly participate in business development activities (several times a month) including business relationship mapping and introductions, presentations at pitch meetings, deck creation and review, and other duties as potentially assigned by Partners
Support our external marketing by bringing potential case studies or client successes to Partners for external promotion
In collaboration with other members of the Senior Management Team, research and develop new product offerings
Attend weekly business development meetings
Partnerships and Relationship building
Build relationships with leaders and practitioners in this space, as relevant to their job. This may include regional desks at committees, campaign managers, other practitioners in the digital, advertising, campaign, or creative spaces.
Build strong relationships with client points of contact, as appropriate, serving as an advisor, sounding board, and collaborator to campaign managers and digital directors.
From time to time, represent the firm at conferences, in public speaking settings, in stakeholder meetings, and consultant meetings and retreats, if needed
Qualifications
Creative, innovative leader with 7-10 years of digital experience that includes digital content, strategy, and team management
Demonstrated management experience of a multi-faceted, high-performing team and a strong interest in helping foster and develop talent
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with internal leadership, clients, and partners/allies in their industries.
Mastery of digital strategy and understanding of how to build a successful paid and digital ads program that prioritizes fundraising, content, and growth with an equity lens
Alignment with our firm’s mission. We work with progressive nonprofits and Democratic campaigns to deliver high-quality, voice-driven digital strategy
Strong verbal and written communication skills (including, but not limited to, training staff, communicating on client calls, pitching projects to partners, and writing email responses to client questions)
Attention to detail and strong organization and prioritization skills while managing multiple projects simultaneously
Candidates should be able to handle multiple projects at once, work well under deadlines, and understand that the internet and politics are not always a 9 to 6 kind of job
